WALKING THE CUTLINE WHEN COMPANIES KILL is a true investigative story about Dean Bautz who was killed while drilling for oil in the Alberta mountains on the Stoney Plains Indian Reserve. Due to the epidemic workplace injuries and fatalities in Canada that were kept quiet, Sheila made a promise to Dean while he was alive: that if anything should ever happen to him while he was at work, she would find the truth and reveal the truth about his death.

Traumatized by his sudden death, and without any formal training, she embarked on an investigation to fulfill her promise. Ultimately, she discovered the smoking gun on company letterhead, a blatant admission of fault. Prior to this, Sheila successfully charged the company with section 220 of the Criminal Code, Gross Negligence Resulting in Death.
